Now hiring for the following positions:

CNC Operator
Hours: 7am to 3:30 pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Operate and monitor various CNC machines and machining centers. Operate equipment to perform cutting, drilling, reaming, tapping, boring and grinding machine operations over a wide range of surfaces, diameters and depths. Operate machine(s) after setup and receiving operating procedures is performed. Arrange, mount and secure tooling and fixtures. Locate/support/secure work piece in absence of fixturing. Set stops and calibrate fixturing to appropriate reference points. Manually cycle machine through operator sequence to check fixture/work positions, tooling, clearances, speed and feeds. Recognize, report and correct errors.  Record production deviations and other notations necessary to produce and improve a high-quality product. Adjust and recalibrate as needed. Work from detailed, involved part drawings and/or specifications. Perform quality checks on parts produced to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications. Basic cleaning and maintenance of equipment. Work with production supervisor and other personnel in a cooperative, collaborative and cost-effective manner. Continually suggest and assist the production supervisor with implementing department and process improvements to increase productivity.

Molded Press Operator- 2nd shift
Hours: 1:30 pm to 11:30 pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Operate and monitor various molded brush presses. Load or unload trays of molded brush products and feed them onto a conveyor belt system or load or unload them into industrial ovens. Load trays into retort furnaces. Perform basic quality checks on all parts produced from various presses to ensure compliance with established drawings and specifications. Make frequent adjustments and re-calibrations to various pieces of equipment to ensure safe and quality operations. Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC). Proactively obtain materials and supplies from Hardware or Plate Stock to maintain efficient production levels.

Quality Inspector
Hours: 9am – 5:30pm Monday – Friday
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Examine material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds. Compare product with specifications and/or drawings to ensure completion of assembly. Verify specified dimensions of product or material. Reject defective parts and document type of defect on part(s), inspection tags, or identify on specification paperwork. Interact with other departments as needed. Resolve customer issues with Customer Service and/or Helwig Carbon Products Technical Departments. Calibrate equipment and measuring devices as required by calibration system.

Band Saw Operator – PT
Hours: 8am to 4:30 pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Operate a band saw and fractional horsepower sizing machine. (A senior operator completes the initial set-up.) Setup and operate a grinder and perform square-off functions. Setup and operate top-beveling on jobs in addition to partnering with a senior operator on more difficult jobs. Perform ongoing basic quality checks on all parts produced to ensure compliance with established drawings and specifications. Make necessary adjustments and re-calibrations to these specific machines to ensure safe and quality operations. Read and utilize a caliper and ruler to check tolerances of work.

Band Saw Operator
Hours: 6:30 am to 3:00 pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Operate a band saw and fractional horsepower sizing machine. (A senior operator completes the initial set-up.) Setup and operate a grinder and perform square-off functions. Manual Machine and Assembly Operator
Hours: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Responsible for performing general assembly functions as needed or required to meet department ship dates. Responsible for the reading of shop orders and inspecting parts from various pieces of equipment to ensure compliance with established drawings and specifications. Responsible for ongoing housekeeping activities and inspections of various machines and processes to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Be able to be cross trained in the department to perform different duties. Responsible for having good attention for detail. Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment. Must have good attendance and work history. Follow and uphold all safety policies and procedures. Work with production supervisor and other department personnel in a cooperative and collaborative manner to expedite orders within the department so as to meet and exceed customer expectations in a cost effective manner.
